Last Call For Annual Dinner

Last call for Annual Dinner

This is the last call for reservations for the dinner. We have to have the numbers in to the restaurant in the next few days.

The 2019 Osteobiology Dinner and Annual Meeting will be held in Orlando, and the dinner fee will be $130. We will partly subsidize the attendance of young investigators invited by their mentors (only one per mentor), who can participate at the special fee of $100.

The dinner will take place on Saturday September 21, 2019, at 6:30 pm at:

Cuba Libre
Pointe Orlando
9101 International Drive Suite #1004
Orlando, FL 32819
Tel: 407-226-1600

The dinner will include cocktails, passed hors d’oeuvres and a 3-course menu with selection
onsite. We are organizing a wonderful evening of good food, wine and entertainment,
including an after dinner lecture.

This year’s after dinner lecture will be presented by Dr. Jeffrey Smith and organized by one of our members, Dr. Melissa Kacena. Dr. Smith is currently Chief of the Science and Technology Projects Division at NASA Kennedy Space Center. The research of the Division spans launch systems, in situ resource utilization, applied chemistry, applied physics, automation and robotics, and the innovative rapid-development capability of the KSC Swamp Works. Prior to this, Jeff served a six-month detail assignment as the Acting Space Biology Program Manager, where he managed on-going projects and grant-based research for NASA Headquarters. From 2013-2016, Dr. Smith was the Manager of the Space Biology Project at NASA Ames Research Center, which supports grant-based research, technology development and spaceflight experiments to the International Space Station and on other free-flying spacecraft such as nanosats. Dr. Smith has also served in a number of other roles at NASA Ames. His talk will inspire you to visit NASA KSC while you are in Orlando!

We hope you will all make it a priority to attend. Note that the restaurant is within walking
distance from the Convention Center and that we usually finish early enough to allow you to still make it to the ASBMR Networking Event that is also scheduled for that evening.

See you in Orlando!
